Sabah’s debut poetry collection titled Tranquil Musings – collected poems was reviewed by eminent litterateur and Jnanpith awardee Dr. Mamoni Raisom Goswami and released by legendary (former) BBC South-Asia Correspondent Sir Mark Tully at the Asia International Literary Festival (2010)

Late Dr. Mamoni Raisom Goswami in her review had said:“After going through his poems, I felt that an outstanding poet has arrived on the banks of the Brahmaputra.”

Keki Daruwalla, one of India’s foremost poets in his review had said: “When he really excells is when he is writing about the mountain and meadow hugging each other, where the plains and the sky blur into each other on the skyline, when the monsoon thunders and the rain pelts down. In other words, he starts as a lover of nature. A young poet with promise.”

AJ Thomas - Sabah Al-Ahmed

AJ Thomas, Poet, Translator, Editor, Indian Literature in his review says: “He writes with such a sense of urgency about everything that he senses, making him a 24×7 poet. His latest poems panning the pandemic is proof of how alert this young poet is even during a stunned silence. The cornucopia of his vocabulary is never-exhausting. An assured promise for Indian poetry in English.”

Ananya S. Guha, poet, academician and literary critic in his review says: “There is this wanderlust in his poetry, this desire to travel back and forth leading to a grand mystique of a world he knows too well.”
